Belize Family Impact Mission Trip

When: July 14-22, 2018

Who: This is a church-wide mission trip, but 7th-12th grade students are encouraged to attend.  Middle School students must be accompanied by a family guardian.

Where: In the Stann Creek district of Belize, Cornerstone works closely with KidzKonnect4Jesus (KK4J). KK4J is a ministry founded by David and Karen Rhodes who are resident missionaries in Hopkins, Belize. KK4J’s ministry consists of Christian education in Belizean schools, feeding programs, family ministry, and medical clinics. Since 2011, Cornerstone has been sending quarterly medical teams to Belize under the direction of Dr. Ed Behling and participating in Family Impact weeks.

What we will be doing: Our trip begins with the Family Impact segment of the trip. From Saturday through Tuesday we will join Belizean families from Pomona Christian Community Church in impacting their community with the love of Christ. We will worship and learn together. We will serve together in outreach and community service projects. Wednesday will be a rest where our team will have the opportunity to spend a relaxing day on a beautiful island or participate in some jungle activity (zip line or hiking).   Thursday through Saturday will be the medical segment of the trip. There will be clinics in five locations. For many Belizeans in this district the KK4J clinics serve as their primary non-emergency medical care. Often over 600 patients are seen during these clinics and we are able to have gospel conversations with many of them! All medical disciplines can be used on this trip (medical, dental, vision, pharmacy and chiropractic). Non-medical people are needed for registration, counseling and other non-medical tasks.

What you can expect: To build great friendships with Belizean believers – to worship alongside and learn together. To share common struggles and victories. To serve the wonderful people of Belize through your medical expertise, a hug or a spoken word of hope. You can expect to come back changed and challenged to live on mission wherever you are.
